Callaway County man dies in lawn mower accident in Portland
A Callaway County man dies in a lawn mower accident in his hometown. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Geroge Ward, 64, of Portland, was riding a lawn mower along the edge of Paradise Lake, on Oak Lane, around 7:30 last night, when the mower began sliding down hill. The mower overturned into the lake, trapping Ward under the vehicle.

Moderate injuries reported in Callaway County accident
CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo.- A Callaway County accident left one with moderate injuries early Friday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Report, Wright City resident, 35-year-old, James D. Kirkendoll was traveling westbound on I-70 when the accident occurred. Kirkendoll lost control of the vehicle, and was ejected from the vehicle when it began to slide. He was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
