Holts Summit partners with Callaway Special Services to build ADA accessible park
The City of Holts Summit has partnered with Callaway County Special Services to build an inclusive park children of all abilities can use. The City has pledged $150,000 to the project alongside Callaway County Special Services' $75,000 to transform the current ADA park into a safer, more up-to-date play area for kids.
Callaway County man dies in lawn mower accident in Portland
A Callaway County man dies in a lawn mower accident in his hometown. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Geroge Ward, 64, of Portland, was riding a lawn mower along the edge of Paradise Lake, on Oak Lane, around 7:30 last night, when the mower began sliding down hill. The mower overturned into the lake, trapping Ward under the vehicle.
Moderate injuries reported in Callaway County accident
CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo.- A Callaway County accident left one with moderate injuries early Friday morning. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Report, Wright City resident, 35-year-old, James D. Kirkendoll was traveling westbound on I-70 when the accident occurred. Kirkendoll lost control of the vehicle, and was ejected from the vehicle when it began to slide. He was transported to University Hospital for treatment.
