Agencies respond to another traffic accident near Hazel
HAZEL – Emergency agencies are asking for drivers to slow down and pay close attention when driving to Hazel on the new four-lane highway. According to Calloway County Fire-Rescue, the county’s 911 Communications Center dispatched CCFR at approximately 5:30 a.m. Friday to the intersection of U.S. 641 South and EW Miller Street in the Hazel community for a vehicle accident with injuries. Dispatch also advised that the vehicle had rolled over and that someone was trapped inside.

Clay Crushers miss state title by only 1 point
BEREA — Calloway County’s Clay Crushers continue to close the gap between themselves and a first-ever high school state trap shooting title. At this year’s Kentucky State High School Trap Shoot State Tournament, last weekend in Berea, the Clay Shooters tied for third, only one point behind Marshall County for the championship. The Marshals ended with a team score of 491 (out of 500), while the Clay Shooters tied with Butler County at 490.
