Detectives Investigating Homicide in North Beach; Suspect in Custody
On Wednesday, June 26, 2024, shortly after 9 p.m., deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Bureau responded to the 9500 block of Sea Gull Court in North Beach, for the report of a shooting. SPENCERVILLE, Md. – A small earthquake rattled parts of Maryland early Tuesday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The 1.8 magnitude quake struck at approximately 3:22 a.m. on June 25, 2024. Its epicenter was located in Spencerville, Montgomery County, and the shaking could be felt as far away as Calvert County and even into Delaware. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 5.9 kilometers.
