Making a racket: Local hunting call company growing quickly
HASTINGS — KLUK Custom Calls, a Cambria County company owned by two military veterans, is making a noisy name for itself when it comes to mouth calls used for hunting. Co-owners Brian Meese, 35, and Nathan Burkhart, 32, make each latex turkey mouth call in their newly expanded workshop off of Number 9 Road. The company was founded by Meese in 2020. He learned to make mouth calls for himself in 2017 under the tutelage of Jed Paronish of Northern Cambria, a state and national turkey competition caller.

CCCRA receives grant for Ghost Town Trail loop
A section of the Ghost Town Trail in Nanty Glo will finally be completed with the aid of federal funding. The Cambria County Conservation and Recreation Authority (CCCRA) received $3.3 million in funding from the Abandoned Mine Lands and Acid Mine Drainage grant programs to complete the loop of the Ghost Town Trail that travels from Ebensburg to Nanty Glo, otherwise known as the C&I Extension.

Which two restaurants are joining Chipotle at the former Kings Restaurant building?
SOMERSET ― Three nationally known restaurant brands will soon occupy the former Kings Restaurant building at 1180 N.
