Red flag warning and cooler windy temps
Cooler and windy today with highs in the low 90's for Pocatello. Both IDA and PIH popped 101 yesterday just a the first cold front came through with some hot storms. We are tracking cool showers this morning, can you smell the rain? Windy today gust to 30+ and around storms even more exciting. High in IF to around 88. 40% chance of storms around and calming with more smoke tomorrow and increased chances of storms Saturday 60% and even cooler. 70's to near 80 in the mountains and low 80's in the valley. Summer is not over yet though. We will return to the 90's by mid week and even closing in on 100 again by next Thursday.
Red Cross Operates Shelters During Busy Fire Season
Residents of Oregon and SW Washington are in the middle of a busy wildfire season as the climate crisis threatens to upend more communities. The American Red Cross Cascades Region opened our first shelter in La Pine on June 25th due to the Darlene 3 Fire and we have not stopped since. We are currently operating in 4 different locations in our region plus we are helping support or neighboring Red Cross regions in Washington, Idaho and Montana.

Officials investigating string of machinery and storage container thefts around eastern Idaho
IDAHO FALLS — Multiple local machinery and towing companies have been on edge this month after someone allegedly stole over $73,500 worth of equipment from them. Mark Hinds, owner of Liberty Container Services in Rigby, says he woke up on July 11 to find a 40-foot light grey shipping container, a skid steer, skid steer attachments, new fencing panels, hand tools, and a wheel kit to move storage containers were gone.
