    Deerfield track: Emme Drobac and Rylee Berryman take top-10 at State Indoor Championships

    Competing at the 2024 State Indoor Track and Field Championships, the Deerfield track and field team had two competitors finish in the top 10 on Saturday, April 6 at UW-Whitewater.

    Sophomore Emme Drobac scored a sixth-place finish in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes and 14.61 seconds.

    Sophomore Rylee Berryman finished ninth in the triple jump with a mark of 34 feet and 6.5 inches. Berryman also took 12th in the high jump at five feet and took 80th in the 60-meter dash at 8.53 seconds.

    Also for the girls, junior Piper Ryan ran 51st in the 800-meter run at 2:35.37. Senior Ella Arenz (2:37.53) took 60th and freshman Madi Ledbury (2:39.00) finished 67th in the 800 as well.

    For the boys, senior Eli Key took 18th in the semifinals for the 60-meter hurdles at 8.9 seconds. Junior Wyatt Brattlie finished 53rd in the triple jump at 37 feet and 11.5 inches.

    In the 60-meter dash, junior Zack Hansen (7.54) took 117th and senior Wayne Thompson (7.8) finished 155th.
