Lake Mills blanks Cambridge in softball

Cally Travis had the lone hit for the Cambridge softball team as the Blue Jays fell 9-0 in non-conference play against Lake Mills on Tuesday, April 9 at Lake Mills Rotary Park.

Lake Mills’ Ava Kleinfeldt pitched five no-hit innings with five strikeouts. Aubrey Lepak pitched the last two innings in relief.

Kleinfeldt also recorded three RBIs at the plate. The L-Cats (4-0) surged ahead in the first inning, when Lily Doerr, Kleinfeldt and Taylor Wollin strung together consecutive RBI singles.

Haydenn Sellnow's run-scoring single in the second plus Kleinfeldt RBI double helped extend the margin to 6-0.

Saveea Freeland took the loss for Cambridge, recording two strikeouts in the circle.
