    Kimmy Roidt homers in Cambridge softball loss to Waterloo

    Waterloo scored five runs in the second inning to pull away with a 10-2 victory over the Cambridge softball team on Thursday, April 18 at CHS.

    Marissa Spoke scored on a passed ball, Callie Davison hit a two-run double to score Briana Lauersdorf and Emerson Schulenburg, Leeah Dorn scored on a sacrifice fly out from Brenna Huebner and Katrina Freund drove in Davison on an RBI single.

    Davison and Ally Schaumann both led the Pirates with two RBIs each. Dorn, Lauersdorf, Freund and Huebner each knocked in a run.

    For Cambridge, Kimmy Roidt hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring Megan Bernhardt. Saveea Freeland pitched a complete game, recording three strikeouts and giving up 10 runs (six earned) in the loss.

    Cambridge is 3-4 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
