    Johnson Creek rallies for late win over Cambridge softball

    Trailing 8-6 entering the top of the seventh inning, the Johnson Creek Bluejays rallied for nine runs and scored a 15-8 win over the Cambridge softball team on Monday, April 22 at Cambridge High School.

    Hailey Fincutter hit a two-run double with one out to tie the game, scoring Molly Altreuter and Marlie Benz. Ava Ryan then scored the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Jenna Fincutter to give Johnson Creek the lead.

    With two outs, Johnson Creek then put the game out of reach with six runs. Lainey Benz hit an RBI single and also scored on a wild pitch, Hailey Kvalheim scored on an error, Marlie Benz hit a two-run double and Altreuter also scored later in the inning.

    For Cambridge, sophomore Finley Tuscic recorded two RBIs and hit a home run, while junior Megan Bernhardt and freshman Kimmy Roidt both drove in a run. Bernhardt and senior Julia Schneider both scored two runs each.

    Cambridge is 3-5 on the season and is 1-2 in the Capitol South Conference.
