    Cambridge track: Five top-five finishes in weather-shortened Fort Invite

    The Cambridge track and field team competed at the 75th Fort Invite on Friday, April 26 at Fort Atkinson High School before weather canceled the remaining portion.

    For the boys, junior Drew Holzhueter ran third in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.91 seconds. Senior Perry Thompson (19.58) also took fifth in the 110-meter hurdles. Junior Ben Fisher scored third in the pole vault at nine feet and six inches.

    The 4x800 relay team of senior Sam Hanson, junior Brian Hottman, sophomore Mason Sonnenberg and junior Evan Roidt ran eighth at 10:13.35. Junior Kyle Polster took 12th in the 100-meter dash at 12.46 seconds.

    For the girls, sophomore Malina Schneider (18.53) and sophomore Ava Williams (18.63) took fourth and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles.

    In the long jump, freshman Emillie Behm (13-11) took sixth and freshman Jill Thompson (13-6.5) scored eighth.

    Senior Mya Lehmann (14.26) took 10th in the 100-meter dash. Sophomore Bella Warpinski (26-1.5) scored 12th in the shot put.

    The boys team finished eighth with seven points. The girls team finished seventh with four points.

    Watertown Luther Prep won the boys competition with 52 points, while McFarland won the girls competition with 39 points.

    Marshall Tri

    The Cambridge track and field team won seven events at the Marshall Conference Tri on Tuesday, April 23 at Marshall High School.

    For the boys, junior Drew Holzhueter won the 400-meter dash in 54.16 seconds. Holzhueter also won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.84 seconds.

    The 4x100 relay team of sophomore Travis Colts, sophomore Oden Jaskolski, sophomore Xavier Pulver and junior Kyle Polster ran second at 47.44 seconds.

    The 4x200 relay team of Jaskolski, sophomore Owain Nelles, Kyle Polster and freshman Trevor Polster took second at 1:39.29.

    Holzhueter, junior Brian Hottman, Nelles and sophomore Mason Sonnenberg finished second at 3:47.39 in the 4x400 relay.

    The 4x800 relay team of Hottman, senior Sam Hanson, sophomore Kai Knoot and junior Evan Roidt finished second at 10:10.29. Trevor Polster scored third in the long jump at 18 feet and two inches.

    For the girls, freshman Jill Thompson won the 200-meter dash in 29.01 seconds. In the long jump, Thompson finished first at 15 feet and two inches, while freshman Emillie Behm (14-0) took third.

    In the 100-meter hurdles, sophomore Ava Williams ran first at 17.97 seconds, while sophomore Malina Schneider took second at 18.28 seconds.

    Williams also won the 300-meter hurdles in 51.15 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Williams, Schneider, freshman Tara Bettenhausen and freshman Emillie Behm took first in 4:32.70.

    The 4x100 relay team of junior Katherine Brown, senior Mya Lehmann, sophomore Tessa Schmude and senior Callie Suick took second at 55.88 seconds.

    Schmude, freshman Macy Robinson, Thompson and junior Charlotte Brown ran second at 1:58.44 in the 4x200. Junior Mallorri Buonincontro scored second in the pole vault at eight feet.

    Lehmann ran second in the 100-meter dash at 14.59 seconds. Freshman Tara Betthausen ran the 400-meter dash in 1:08.76 to finish second overall. Sophomore Bella Warpinski scored third in the discus throw at 86 feet and four inches.
