    Cambridge track and field competes at Cambridge Tri, girls team scores win over Wisconsin Heights

    CAMBRIDGE - - The Cambridge track and field team competed in the Cambridge Tri on Monday, April 29 at Cambridge High School against Marshall and Wisconsin Heights.

    The girls team won 71-36 against Wisconsin Heights and lost 94-52 to Cambridge, while the boys lost 79-57 to Wisconsin Heights and was defeated 118-27 by Marshall.

    For the girls, freshman Tara Bettenhausen won the 400-meter dash in 1:07.54 and junior Charlotte Brown (1:11.81) finished third.

    Sophomore Ava Williams (17.65) and sophomore Malina Schneider (18.19) ran first and second in the 100-meter hurdles. Williams (51.81) and Schneider (52.64) also ran first and second in the 300-meter hurdles.

    The 4x100 relay team of sophomore Tessa Schmude, senior Callie Suick, senior Mya Lehmann and junior Katherine Brown ran first at 55.31 seconds.

    The 4x200 relay team of Suick, freshman Macy Robinson, Schneider and freshman Emillie Behm took first at 1:59.61. Behm, Bettenhausen, Williams and freshman Jill Thompson scored first in the 4x400 relay at 4:41.25.

    Junior Mallorri Buonincontro scored second in the pole vault at seven feet and six inches. Behm (12-10) placed third in the long jump.

    Schmude (14.20) ran third in the 100-meter dash. Schmude (29.51) took third in the 200-meter dash.

    For the boys, junior Drew Holzhueter won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.48 seconds. Holzhueter also won the 300-meter hurdles in 43.43 seconds, winning the event by .10 seconds over Drew Jacobus of Wisconsin Heights.

    The 4x100 relay team of sophomore Travis Colts, sophomore Oden Jaskolski, junior Kyle Polster and freshman Trevor Polster finished in first place at 46.96 seconds.

    Junior Brian Hottman, Holzhueter, sophomore Owain Nelles and sophomore Mason Sonnenberg placed second in the 4x400 relay at 3:42.95. Trevor Polster (18-6.5) took second in the long jump.

    Hottman (55.85) ran third in the 100-meter dash. The 4x200 relay team of freshman Elias Reese, freshman Lucas Fisher, junior Ben Fisher and junior Matthew Duell placed third at 1:47.49.

    The 4x800 relay team of freshman Elias Torres, freshman Cohen Kyburz, junior Evan Roidt and freshman Charlie Sonnetag scored third at 10:16.19.

    Senior Jamayne Flom-Pressley threw third in the discus throw with a mark of 104 feet and two inches.
