    Things to do: Jackie Connell, Cooper Gadd take on lead roles in 'Beauty and the Beast Jr.'

    Beauty and the Beast

    CAMBRIDGE − The Cambridge Performing Arts Center will present the beloved Disney classic "Beauty and the Beast Jr." at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 3 p.m. Sunday. The local cast of more than 50 performers will bring the characters to life on stage. The show will feature music from both the animated classic and the Broadway production. Jackie Connell will play Belle, while Cooper Gadd takes on the role of Beast. Opening night is projected to sell out, so grab tickets online to secure a seat.     Family fun day

    CALDWELL − Kiss those end of summer blues away at Caldwell Lake with a day filled with family fun. The Wrap up to Summer Family Fun Day will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10. The Foam Garage will be there, pouring out the foam for guests to romp in. Enjoy the lake with free kayaking, do some fishing. play games and more. Lunch will be available on-site.     Name that Tune

    Think you can name every song out there? Head to Wings, Etc. in Caldwell to test that theory. The grill and pub is launching a team version of Name That Tune on Thursdays at the restaurant. This weekly event will run from 7 to 9 p.m. Get your team lined up as the competition is sure to be fierce. For more information call 740-305-5168.     Live music at the winery

    CAMBRIDGE — Join friends at Georgetown as Nashville-based country music duo The Dryes bring their talent to the vineyard. The show is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Grab a pizza and a signature slushy and sit back to enjoy the view and tunes. If you grew up listening to country classics, this is the show for you. For more information call 740-435-3222.     Y Bridge Arts Festival

    ZANESVILLE — According to the Facebook event page, the Y Bridge Arts Festival is Muskingum County's largest annual public event, bringing the best of our area's artists, craftsman, musicians, and performing artists together to showcase their talents. More than 15,000 square feet of outdoor tents, performance areas, interactive space, and area food vendors will converge on downtown. The two-day event will be hosted by the Artist Colony of Zanesville. Transportation among local galleries, unique businesses, and restaurants will be provided during festival hours. The festival is scheduled to take place from 2 to 11 p.m. Friday closing with a performance by Big Fat Dog Blues Band and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday with the Groove Band closing out the event. Matesich Distribution and Weasel Boy Brewing Company will provide the drinks and food trucks will be available. Kids activities are scheduled for both days and include making Mexican tin ornaments, Arabic paper tiles, Polynesian tiki necklaces and American-painted stones.
