    Cambridge softball defeated by Waterloo

    WATERLOO -- Brenna Huebner hit a three-run inside the park home run during a 10-run first inning as Waterloo surged past visiting Cambridge 13-3 in five innings in Capitol South softball on Friday.

    Huebner, who was 3-for-4, also singled home a run in the first. After RBI hits by Alix McCarthy, Marissa Spoke and Briana Lauersdorf, Huebner's homer to center made it 9-1.

    McCarthy added three hits and three RBIs for the Pirates (12-7, 7-1 in conference).

    Waterloo starter Ally Schaumann allowed an earned run on five hits with four strikeouts in five frames to earn the decision.

    Saveea Freeland took the loss for the Blue Jays (5-8, 3-5 in conference).
