Camden County umpire's assault case involving deputy is moved to Moniteau County
An assault case involving a baseball umpire and a Camden County deputy is moved to another county. Neal Sidebottom, of Versailles, was arrested in May 2023 on charges of first-degree assault of a special victim and resisting arrest. On Wednesday, a Camden County judge granted a request for a change of venue. The case will now be heard in Moniteau County.
Barnett Man Injured and Arrested for Accident in Camden County
CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo - A Barnett man was injured in a two-vehicle accident last night in Camden County. The accident occurred at 6:45 at the intersection of Missouri Highway 5 and Twin Rivers Point. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a UTV driven by 40-year-old Luke Schlorff of Cameron was stopped to turn onto Twin Rivers Point. Meanwhile, a pickup truck driven by 40-year-old Boone Bax of Barnett failed to stop behind Schlorff. Bax's truck skidded, hit Schlorff and ran off the right side of the road. The truck overturned before coming to rest.
Kansas City man seriously injured during police chase near Sunrise Beach
A Kansas City man suffers serious injuries when fleeing from law enforcement in Camden County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Alex Dee, 29, was involved in a pursuit with deputies early Monday morning on Route MM near Sunrise Beach. The patrol says Dee’s SUV began to skid, travelled off the road, he overcorrected, then traveled off the other side of the road where he overturned.

Morgan County man seriously injured when his truck collides with UTV north of Camdenton
A Morgan County man is seriously injured when his pickup truck strikes a UTV in Camden County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says it was just before 7:00 last night when Boone Bax, 40, of Barnett, was driving down Highway 5, about eight miles north of Camdenton, when he pulled up behind a UTV. The UTV driver had stopped to turn onto Twin Rivers Point Road. Troopers say Bax failed to stop, began skidding off the side of the road, hit the UTV, and overturned.

Firefighters in Camden County quickly extinguish an early morning house fire in Climax Springs. The Northwest Fire Protection District says crews were called to a residential structure fire around 4:00 this morning. Crews arrived to find light smoke coming from a single-story home. Mutual aid was called in from the Mid-County Fire Protection District due to a limited water supply.
