(Camden, NJ) – The Gloucester Township Library branch, located at 15 S Black Horse Pike, will be closed for the rest of the day on Thursday. “While this branch is closed for the remainder of the day, patrons can visit one of our other branches for library services,” said Linda Devlin, director of the Camden County Library System. “The branch should be reopened tomorrow morning for regular operating hours.”

On Wednesday, July 3, at approximately 1 a.m., Gloucester Township police were dispatched to 32 N. Black Horse Pike in Blackwood for a structure fire, Daily Voice reported. Police found heavy smoke coming from the building which contained several commercial businesses downstairs and the upstairs apartment. All occupants were quickly evacuated and there were no reported injuries, police said.

Money awarded to make walking, biking to school safer
TRENTON — A state program to encourage children to walk or bike to schools in safety is sending almost $3.5 million to communities in Burlington and Camden counties. The state Department of Transportation on Wednesday disclosed the recipients of almost $21.1 million in Safe Routes to School Program grants. The money is spread among 23 communities around the state.

A jury has convicted a 76-year-old Pennsauken man for repeatedly sexually assaulting a young girl, Camden County Prosecutor Grace MacAulay announced. Joseph Jackson was found guilty of two counts each of sexual assault involving a victim younger than 13 and endangering the welfare of a child — all second-degree charges.
