    Roundup: Camden-Wyoming to face MOT for Senior softball title tonight

    Camden-Wyoming downed Dover, 18-7, on Friday night to reach the District I finals in Senior League softball.

    C-W (2-1) will host MOT (2-0) today at 6 p.m. in the district title game. If Camden-Wyoming wins, a second game would follow.

    The District I champion earns a spot in the two-team state tournament, which is being hosted by New Castle County’s District II.

    On Friday, C-W finished with 13 hits and 12 stolen bases. It was paced by Brooke Weihermuller (3-for-3), Gabriela Figueroa (2-for-2, 3 RBI), Carly Hurd (2 hits) and Addison Ferger (2 hits).

    Winning pitcher Madison Correll allowed five hits in four innings.

    Maci Ridgeway and Zoe Baldwin both had two-run doubles for Dover (2-2) with Mikaylah Price adding a pair of hits.

    Intermediate tournament

    Camden-Wyoming 14, Milford 11: C-W won started the District I tourney off with victory on Friday.

    Jayven Robles (2-for-3, 3 RBI) and Logan Mason (3-for-4) pac ed C-W while Andrew Kochaba, Cooper Huttie, and Linken Kelley all had two hits.
    Barrett Valentino and Will Walls picked up two RBI apiece for Milford.

    MOT 20, Dover 0: The Middletown-area squad won its opener in the District I tournament on Friday night.

    The four-team double-elimination tourney is being played at Dover.
