MOT LIttle League and Camden Wyoming LIttle League faced off in the District 1 Majors division championship Thursday night at MOT Little League Duke field. The two teams had already played once in the double elimination tournament with MOT defeating Camden 10-0.

However this game was not a remake of the first game. It took extra innings in this game to decide a winner as the team found themselves in a pitchers duel. Bill Windley from MOt and Golden Myers each went almost 6 scoreless innings a piece with Myers being pulled halfway through the sixth. Both pitchers gave up 3 hits a piece and neither team was able to get a baserunner past first base. Myers struck out 8 batters while Windley struck out 9.

After six full innings the game was still tied 0-0 the game went into extra innings. MOT finally broke the scoreless game in the top of the seventh inning putting up four runs. Dawson Soldo started off the inning, followed by Windley who reached on an error. After a field choice and a stolen base Camden decided to intentionally walk Kyle B  to create a force out situation.

With the bases loaded Liem Fitzgerald delivered with a base hit to right field that scored two runs for MOT as they took the first lead of the game 2-0. Next batter Daniel Radovanovic followed Fitgerald with a two run single of his own to push the lead to 4-0.

That was all the runs Windley needed to close out the game and secure the victory for MOT. MOT advances to the Majors Division state championship that starts Wednesday July 24th which they will host at Duke field. MOT will actually play Thursday July 25th against the winner of Naamans Little League and the to be determined District 3 champion.
