    Andy's Greek Taverna

At Andy’s Greek Taverna, you’re family—no questions asked. This old-school Greek restaurant in Camden has been going strong since the ‘60s and operates as a sort of pseudo-foster programme for sad Londoners who want to pretend they’re in Rhodes. Heartily stuffed dolmades are passed across tables, Yannis Markopoulos songs blare from the speakers, and any pungent garlic breath from the truly Greek-style tzatziki is dutifully ignored. The food is reliably tasty with the slapdash, giant portion presentation favoured by good yiayias everywhere. On sunny days, the pavement seating takes on a holiday feel, complete with £3.50 bottles of Mythos beer and wipe-clean blue and white tablecloths. Also, the moussaka—brick-sized, packed full of béchamel, a certified Camden legend—is a must-order.
