Vinnie's Pies. Where do I start with this place?

What started as a modest food truck over in the bakery district has turned into one of Fort Smith's most surprising restaurant destinations. Could it win a Michelin star? I'm not sure, but darn the food is good.

Let's be honest, there are so many different types of pizza. But, when you truly think of pizza the first place that comes to mind is New York. From the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Italian movies and culture, when you think of a pizza you probably think about New York.

But, unfortunately, we don't live in New York, we live in Fort Smith, Arkansas. So, where does one go to find some authentic New York-style pizza? Well, you go to Vinnie's Pies, where you'll see a guy spinning dough behind the counter like a true Olympic athlete.

Vinnie drapes every pizza with a sauce that tastes like it came straight from Italian heaven. If you've ever eaten a delicious pizza sauce then you can taste the subtle hints of fresh tomato and rosemary. And you can have the best sauce in the world but if your crust is trash no one will care.

Fortunately, the crust at Vinnie's is like mana from heaven, with just the right amount of texture and flavor to make the pizza taste delicious. I'm so tired of going to places where the pizza is as dry as a pizza-flavored pringles chip. That's not the case at Vinnie's.

Now for the atmosphere, I have to give credit where credit is due. From starting in a food truck to this beautiful restaurant, this is like the American dream. Every inch of the restaurant is comfortable and immaculate, and I run a janitorial company so I know a thing or two about cleanliness.

There is generally a line here but the food comes out piping hot in a reasonable time. I recommend eating here in person so that you can take in the delicious aroma and atmosphere of the restaurant.

I think it's safe to say that even Tony Soprano would approve of the pizza here at Vinnie's Pies.
