This Little Chihuahua Who Lost her Owner Is Now Looking For A New Family

    2024-07-20

(MA) Meet Love "Lovie" Island, an adorable Chihuahua and Rat Terrier mix pup who is ready to fill your life to the brim with, you guessed it, love! This pup, along with her doggie siblings, were owned and very well cared for before tragedy struck. Sadly, Lovie's owner passed away leaving her without a home. Luckily, Great Dog Rescue New England scooped Lovie up and placed her with a foster. Though she is happy at her foster home, Lovie hopes she will not have to wait long before she is scooped up one last time, but this time by her new family.

    More Information On Lovie Island

Lovie is an 8-year-old Chihuahua and Rat Terrier mix pup who weighs, as of 7/19/24, approximately 12 pounds. She has a short coat length, which is a tricolor of brown, black, and white in color. Lovie is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

According to Great Dog Rescue New England, Lovie is a sweetie who is "ready to bring all of her love and doggie kisses to her new home." Despite losing her previous owner, Lovie has never lost her everyday joy. She is very friendly, sweet, and loving. She loves other dogs and very much enjoys playing with them, followed by a cuddle in her human's lap. In addition to dogs, Petfinder has stated she would do well in a home with kids, other animals, and even chickens.

"She can be a little shy at first but quickly warms up, then watch out...wherever you go you will have a shadow and a best friend!" - Great Dog Rescue New England / Petfinder

    How Can You Help Lovie?

If you are interested in adopting Lovie, please fill out the adoption application form, which can be found here. She is available for adoption to anyone 24 or older and living in New England, NY, NJ, or PA.

Another huge thing you can do to help is consider fostering! There are never enough fosters to meet the demands of all the pups in need. More information on fostering with Great Dog Rescue New England can be found in the fostering section of their official website.

If you cannot adopt or foster, an easy way to help is to share this article or Lovie's Petfinder profiles: www.petfinder.com/dog/love-island
