Terrier Puppy Who Almost Drowned While Stuck In Beaver Trap Now Searching For Love

(MA) Get ready to meet an incredibly resilient puppy with a heartbreaking past. Hasley is a little Rat Terrier and Basenji mix pup who was recently rescued from a very traumatizing situation. A Good Samaritan park ranger came across Hasley as she was drowning in Grenada Lake in Mississippi. To make an already horrible situation even worse, she was stuck in an illegally placed beaver/cougar trap while trashing around the lake.

After a night of struggling, Hasley could barely keep her snoot above the water. Luckily, the Good Samaritan found her at this time and was able to rescue her in the nick of time. Crazily, the park ranger had to push away a water moccasin when jumping in to save Hasley. Once out of the water, the puppy briefly stopped breathing, but the ranger was able to rub her chest frantically to get her breathing again.

At this point, the poor Terrier puppy was absolutely traumatized, and she was still not out of the woods. The beaver trap that caught her badly mangled her foot down to the bone. The wound was so bad that unfortunately her back leg needed to be amputated by a vet.

However, despite an unimaginably bad experience and horrific injury, Hasley has recovered from her surgery and is now a completely different, and very happy dog. Hasley will soon be heading to MA to find her new family, and after everything she has been through, I think we can all agree that she for sure deserves a loving home. So what are you waiting for?

    More Information On Hasley

Hasley is a 6-month-old Rat Terrier and Basenji mix pup who weighs, as of 8/18/24, approximately 20 pounds. Though she only has three legs, she does not let that stop her for a single second and has recovered completely from her surgery. She has short coat length which is a tricolor or brown, black, and white. Hasley is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations.

According to Great Dog Rescue New England, Hasley does not let her past define her and is truly a happy dog. She gets better every day and loves to run and play. Though she can be nervous in new environments, Hasley is quick to open up once she feels comfortable. She loves all humans and dogs and would love to have a family with another doggy friend.

"While Hasley only has 3 legs, she has a heart full of courage and so much love to give! It's not the number of legs that matter.... she will bring endless amounts of love and joy into your life!" - Great Dog Rescue New England / Petfinder
