Meet Ada: An Adorable Little Pomeranian Searching For Family

(MA) Get ready to meet the happiest little pup who does not let his tough past define him. Scooter, or Scoot for short, is a 4-year-old Pomeranian mix pup who was sadly run over by a car, causing permanent nerve damage to the back of his body. Because of this, he is unable to control bodily movements for his back half, forcing him to wear diapers.

Despite such a traumatic injury, he has learned to walk well with only his front legs and also has a wheelchair to help him get around. Despite his injury, he is active, happy, and completely full of love. The only thing he is truly missing is a loving family to call his own.

    More Information On Scooter

Scooter is a 4-year-old Pomeranian mix pup who weighs, as of 8/20/24, approximately 10-12 pounds. He has a long coat length which is solid black in color. Scooter is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He is considered special needs due to his back injury and does have a new wheelchair to help him get around. However, he typically prefers to move around using just his front legs.

According to Great Dog Rescue New England, Scoot has a strong spirit and a love for life that is infectious. He loves other dogs and all the people he meets. Though he enjoys being around children, GDRNE recommends he go to a home with older kids due to his disabilities. Scooter loves the extra attention he gets from being a "wonder dog".

"While the nerve damage cannot be repaired, his disability doesn't slow him down! Scooter is proof that love doesn't need legs to stand strong!" - Great Dog Rescue New England / Petfinder

    How Can You Help Scooter?

If you are interested in adopting Scoot please fill out the adoption application form, which can be found here. He is available for adoption to anyone 24 or older and living in New England, NY, NJ, or PA.

Another huge thing you can do to help is consider fostering! There are never enough fosters to meet the demands of all the pups in need. More information on fostering with Great Dog Rescue New England can be found in the fostering section of their official website.

If you cannot adopt or foster, an easy way to help is to share this article or Scooter's Petfinder profile: www.petfinder.com/dog/scooter-special-needs-boy
