A couple mild days with popcorn showers/T-storms, then off to the heat
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Evening radar became somewhat active, with a few storms producing 50 to 60 MPH gusts, at least indicated by radar. A severe thunderstorm warning was issued for one such a storm in Campbell County, Wyoming, then a special weather statement for 50 to 50 mph wind gusts and pea size hail was issued for a complex of storms that lined up from around Custer South towards Hot Springs and Oelrichs. This activity is expected to swing through the area with a few more feisty cells that could pack a punch as we enter the late evening and overnight hours.
League of Women Voters, GPA TV to host primary candidate forums
GILLETTE, Wyo.— The Campbell County League of Women Voters is teaming up with Gillette Public Access TV to host two public forums for primary election candidates next week. Candidates for City Council, Sate Legislature and County Commission will be participating in the forums, which are open for the public to attend. Both forums will be streamed live on GPA TV and will be archived for viewers to watch later, according to the Facebook post announcing the events.
