Some backyards did get some brief rain in the form of stray showers and storms, but for the most part, many locations remained dry. Today will offer a similar chance for rain – in other words, a bleak one. A few storms could pop up this afternoon, but the majority of the area will stay rain-free. Expect warm and muggy conditions tonight with lows in the mid-70s.

The hottest weather moves in today. Highs will be in the middle to upper 90s with the heat index between 105 and 110 degrees. This is dangerous heat! The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning due to the very high heat index that's expected. Have a means to keep cool and make sure you're hydrated with water if you're going to be outside for an extended period of time. Both today and tomorrow will also offer up the chance for some isolated thunderstorms.
