ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Big Lots is closing more locations in New York including the stores located in Canandaigua and Ithaca.
These closures add to the New York total, now amounting to ten total Big Lots locations closing in New York State.
According to the company website, the following local stores are set to close:
- Canandaigua, 4406 State Route 5&20
- Ithaca, 2309 North Triphammer Road
- Linden Corners in Buffalo, 2276 Delaware Avenue
- Sloan in Buffalo, 698 Ogden Street
Additional stores closing in New York State include:
- Carle Place, 260 Voice Road
- Centereach, 231 Centereach Mall
- New Hartford, 4645 Commercial Drive
- Plattsburg, 316 Cornelia Street
- Poughkeepsie, 43 Burnett Boulevard
- Queensbury, 751 Upper Glen Street
This follows after Big Lots announced in early July that the company was expecting to close 35 to 40 store locations across the country. This was according to a U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) filing from the company.
Big Lots expects to close dozens of stores, company’s future in doubt Company leaders said inflation and their inability to compete under economic pressures have led to a substantial doubt in their ability to continue.
