    Milburn’s returns to hype the haunt experience

    HUBBARD: Milburn’s Haunted Manor returns for another season of scares, frights and Halloween season fun.

    The haunt is open Friday to Sunday, beginning Oct. 4, from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and until 10 p.m. on Sundays. It will also be open on Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 30-31, from 7 to 10 p.m.

    Milburn’s features two haunted attractions, a moonlit pumpkin patch, food and beverages, covered commons, photo booth and more.

    Fir Point Farms offers Harvest Festival fun

    AURORA: Fir Point Farms will hold its Harvest Festival every Wednesday to Sunday through October at its farm, 14601 Arndt Road in Aurora.

    The farm has six acres of activities such as a corn maze, cow train, giant slides, pumpkin walk, pumpkin painting, bouncy houses and much more. There is also a beer garden, food court and a country store with homemade items.

    The festival is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day and features free admission and parking.

    Fall market fun set for garden in Aurora

    AURORA: The Fall Market at Margie’s will be held Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4-5. The event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 4; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 5.

    There will be more than 50 vendors with antiques, vintage, repurposed, and handcrafted items, as well as food, drinks and more.

    Molalla D&D session will explore Candlekeep quest

    MOLALLA: The Molalla Public Library’s Dungeons and Dragons program will meet Saturday, Oct. 5, from 1 to 4 p.m..

    The program is for teens ages 10-18 and meets the first Saturday of every month.

    Molalla High alumni luncheon just around corner

    MOLALLA: All Molalla High School alumni are invited to attend the 109th Annual Alumni Luncheon on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Molalla High School Commons, 357 Frances St.

    Aurora Colony Flea read for October event

    AURORA: The Aurora Colony Flea will be held Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Aurora American Legion Hall, 21510 Main Street.

    The event features antiques, vintage items, handcrafted items, artisans, local producers and more. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

    Ectoplasmic slime sounds like a good time, right?

    MOLALLA: The Molalla Public Library will feature S.T.E.A.M. Powered Fun on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 5:30 p.m.

    Designed for elementary age children, this month’s event will feature participants making ectoplasmic slime, as well as enjoy treats and encounter a strange mystery.

    Garden club’s next meeting to feature mosaics

    CANBY: The Canby Garden Club will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at the Canby Public Library at 1 p.m.

    Garden Club member Melinda Hickey will teach a craft class on mosaics.

    Also, librarian Maud Whalen will provide an update on the new seed bank at the library. Members are encouraged to bring seeds to share from their gardens. Everyone is welcome at the Canby Garden Club and you do not need to be a member to enjoy the free programs.

    The B.Y.O. Book Club will meet at Canby Library

    CANBY: The Canby Public Library will hold the B.Y.O. Book Club on Wednesday, Oct. 9, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Willamette Room.

    This is a monthly group that gets together to chat about books, what everyone is reading, and just sharing a love of books. This group meets the second Wednesday of each month.

    Writing group will to gather at Canby Public Library

    CANBY: The Canby Public Library’s Writing Group will meet Thursday, Oct. 10, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Willamette Room.

    Come for support, ideas, motivation and a place to talk about the challenges and achievements that come with writing. This group meets the second Thursday of every month at the library.

    Aurora ready for ‘stars’ to come out at show

    AURORA: Stars Over Aurora: 52nd Annual Quilt Show will be run from Friday, Oct. 11 through Sunday, Oct. 20 at the Old Aurora Colony Museum.

    This year the show has taken its inspiration from the night skies and stars shining brightly over the town of Aurora.

    The event will feature quilt displays, historic quilts, block contest, demonstrations and more. It runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The Old Aurora Colony Museum is at 15018 2nd St. NE in Aurora

    Book discussion group will meet at Woodburn Library

    WOODBURN: Friends of the Woodburn Library will hold “Coffee Talk – Book Discussion” on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10:30 a.m. to noon.

    Bring a favorite or recent book to share with the group. Coffee and treats will be provided. This is not a typical book discussion group, but a way to get some recommendations and meet new people.

    Fall Festival set for Willamette Valley Melons

    MOLALLA: Molalla’s Willamette Valley Melons will hold its Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

    The event will feature a pumpkin patch, tractor rides, corn maze, live music, vendor market and kid zone. There will be an evening “pumpkin glow” at 7 p.m.

    It is time for Canby Historical Society flea market

    CANBY: The Canby Historical Society will hold its annual fall flea market on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the main pavilion of the fairgrounds, 694 NE 4th Ave. in Canby.

    The Historical Society holds flea markets in both the spring and fall as one of its major fundraisers. Admission is $3, with children ages 12 and younger getting in for free.

    Teen event for October will feature a murder mystery

    WOODBURN: The Woodburn Public Library will hold its October teen event on Monday, Oct. 14, at 5:30 p.m.

    This month’s event will include a murder mystery party. Attendees will take on the role of one of the guests and solve a mystery at the library.

    The November teen event will be held Saturday, Nov. 14, at noon and feature a video game tournament.

    Fall Harvest Festival on tap in Wilsonville

    WILSONVILLE: The 2024 Fall Harvest Festival will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the Stein-Boozier Barn in Wilsonville. Put on a costume and enjoy this special event with your family. This event will feature free pumpkins, face painting, crafts, a costume parade, live music, horse and carriage rides, a scavenger hunt, kid-friendly activities and more.

    Canby creamery ready for Halloween-themed weekend

    CANBY: TMK Creamery will host “Halloween FUN at TMK” on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 26-27, from 10:45 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. at its location, 27221 S. Dryland Road, Canby.

    The event will feature pumpkin painting, treats, a scavenger hunt, and folks are encouraged to dress up for the occasion. Additionally, TMK Distillery is celebrating its anniversary with special shakes, food trucks, ice cream and more.

    Canby’s downtown ready to get ‘Spooktacular’

    CANBY: Canby’s Spooktacular Village is back on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 2:45 to 5:45 p.m. in downtown Canby. The event features not only Halloween trick-or-treating at local businesses and city entities, but also Halloween crafts, a book giveaway, scarecrows and much more.

    Canby’s Farmers Market still rolling along

    CANBY: The Canby Farmers Market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in downtown Canby on N. Holly Street between NW 2nd and 4th avenues.

    The market will run through October and feature produce from local farmers, hand crafters, food artisans and plenty of other vendors.

    Canby preschool ready to accept student enrollment

    CANBY: Zoar Lutheran Preschool is currently enrolling students for its preschool programs. Led by the new creative team of teachers Kim Platt and Natalie Cobb, a slew of fun and interesting activities is planned for this year.

    The school is currently enrolling for its 3-year-old class (Tuesday and Thursdays, 9 to 11:30 a.m.), and 4-year-old class (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to noon). The preschool asks that potential students be fully potty trained and 3 years old by Sept. 1.

    Tabletop gaming is going on at the library

    CANBY: The Canby Public Library is holding a tabletop gaming event the second and fourth Saturday of each month running from noon to 4 p.m.

    Gaming is in the Teen Room and is for ages 13-18 to explore some new tabletop game options.

    Annual Scarecrow Contest registration is underway

    CANBY: The annual Canby Scarecrow Contest will be taking entries through Sept. 29. To register, go to hotroddreamworks.com or email to hotroddreamworks@canby.com.

    After registration, entrants will get an email with where to set up their scarecrow in downtown Canby. The event is free to participate in and it is open to businesses, organizations and clubs. Scarecrows must be set up between Oct. 6-11 and voting begins Oct. 14.

    D&D campaign looking for players at Canby Library

    CANBY: A Dungeons and Dragons campaign for teens ages 13-18 will be the first and third Saturday at the Canby Public Library.

    The campaigns will be from noon to 4 p.m., in the Teen room of the Canby Public Library.

    Portland Timbers supporters group meets in Canby

    CANBY: The local Portland Timbers support group, Timbers Army Clackamas County Frogmen, will meet at the F.O.B. Taproom in Canby cheer on the MLS team for every game this season, except those on Wednesday nights.

    The game will be shown on a large pull-down screen and the fun will include snacks and patches and stickers for sale. Beverages are available on site, and food can be purchased outside of the taproom and brought in during the game. All area Timbers fans are encouraged to stop by.

    Woodburn Meals on Wheels program seeks volunteers

    WOODBURN: The Northwest Senior and Disability Services is accepting volunteers for its Woodburn-based Meals on Wheels program.

    Volunteers serve nutritious food to the community’s older citizens. It’s an opportunity to help the community, connect with others and be a friendly, familiar face.
