May 2, 1935 – May 13, 2024 - Frank Lehner passed away shortly after his 89th birthday in Canby Oregon. Frank was born May 2nd, 1935 in Portland. He was the second son of Frank E. Lehner Sr, and Katherine C. Lehner (Reilly). He joined his older brother Scott in a life of adventure in Lake Oswego, enjoying fishing, water skiing and boating.

Frank was a quiet, thoughtful, unpretentious man. His quiet outward demeanor hid a fierce competitive spirit. He excelled at individual sports, mainly downhill skiing, tennis and golf.

He graduated in one of the very early classes at Lake Oswego High School and attended several years at the University of Oregon. He was then employed as a ski instructor at Timberline Lodge and Mt Hood Ski Bowl, continuing as a member of the Mt Hood ski patrol into his 70s

After serving four years in the Air Force, he returned to Portland and began a career designing and assembling picture frames for Gunnary’s Fine Art. Later he was an installer and service technician for a commercial alarm system co. Frank continued that career until his ultimate retirement.

While in Portland Frank met and married Cecelia Krumholz with whom he had a son Adrian. Adrian was unfortunately born with a heart defect that resulted in his early death at age thirty five.

Frank was an avid downhill skier and golfer. His skiing talent was a thing of beauty. Never in a hurry to reach the bottom of the hill, he swooped from side to side as if his skis were caressing the slope. That same unhurried pace marked his golf game. He was a methodical golfer, planning his path around the course to achieve the best possible score.

Even into his eighties he was repeatedly able to shoot his age, an accomplishment few golfers ever achieve. Playing from the back tees, he shot a 78 on a difficult course when he was 79. A remarkable score even for a much younger man.

Frank will be missed by his many friends and family. He particularly enjoyed family gatherings with his nieces and their children, watching them flourish into adulthood.

Frank is survived by his brother Larry Lehner of Cathedral City California, his brother Michael Lehner and wife Patty in Portland, and numerous nieces and nephews and their children and husbands, as well as his former wife Cecelia. His parents, Frank and Katherine Lehner preceded Frank in death along with his brother Scott, stepbrother, Peter Papulski, stepmother Jean Lehner (Papulski).

Celebration of Life on July, 27, 5:30pm @ The Oak Hills Rec Center, 2400 NW 153rd Ave. Beaverton, OR 97006
