CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Airman First Class J.T. Palmer surprised his family this Fourth of July by jumping into the Canfield parade.

He flew home to Canfield from his base in Utah early Thursday morning.

He walked in the parade, where his family was watching.

Dad, Rick Palmer, was in on the surprise and helped J.T. make it happen.

The video above shows the reactions of his cousin and aunt seeing him for the first time.

Mom, Vicki Palmer, was filming and crying — she’s a promotions producer at WKBN/WYTV.

J.T.’s sister, Abby, was just as surprised to see him.

“I was surprised to see him and am so happy that he is home for this visit. This is the best Fourth of July I could’ve asked for,” Vicki said.

J.T. Palmer is a 2022 graduate of Canfield High School.
