CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – Safety Forces in Canfield are looking for your help to put smiles on the faces of young patients in the hospital.

The police and fire departments’ annual Christmas in July toy drive will take place on the Village Green Thursday, July 25 from 4-8 p.m.

Officers are looking to spread the word now, hoping to collect items to be donated to Akron Children’s Hospital-Mahoning Valley.

“Every year we collect toys, coloring books, crayons, things of that nature that the volunteer services group at Akron Children’s use to pass out to children that are there receiving services,” said Sgt. Josh Wells.

Organizers say they will gather up all of the donated items and deliver them to the hospital next Friday.
