OUTAGES ACROSS THE COUNTRY AFFECT WHITEWATER VALLEY

There have been IT outages across the country that are affecting airports, banks, and some 911 services. It appears to be connected to Microsoft. At 4:30 this morning, Union County dispatchers indicated that both their 911 and non-emergency lines are down. Butler County is reporting similar 911 outages. There have also been reports of bank cards not working. There are also major affects at airports across the country, including at our two closest. Major air carriers have asked the FAA for a global ground stop on all flights. Our two closest airports air having issues. In Dayton, some flight statuses are now listed as either unknown or delayed. At Cincinnati, outbound travelers are not able to check in for their flights. National security officials are saying all of the issues are not the result of a cyber attack, but are pointing the finger at a computer glitch by the firm Crowdstrike.
