Electric Helicopter Service to JFK Approved
Joby Aviation, a West Coast tech company, introduced electric helicopters as a solution for transportation between Manhattan and JFK Airport. This futuristic aircraft boasts speeds of up to 200 mph and a quick seven-minute trip between Downtown Manhattan and the Queens air hub. Joby's "flying taxi," quieter than its competitors, aims to provide luxury transportation at a reasonable price, comparable to Uber Black services. With zero operating emissions, the aircraft is environmentally friendly and designed for efficient vertical takeoff and landing. Joby is currently seeking certification through the FAA for commercial use in cities like New York and Los Angeles, with potential service in Dubai by the end of 2025.
