    Fire in Cañon City causes total loss, two displaced

    (CAÑON CITY, Colo.) — The Cañon City Area Fire Protection District reported on Monday afternoon, July 15, that it responded to a structure fire on the north side of the city.

    On Monday, just after 1 p.m., fire crews from Cañon City responded to an active structure fire in the 1000 block of Indiana Ave. Upon arrival, crews found a mobile home, a detached shed, and one vehicle on fire.

    Firefighters made an aggressive fire attack and contained the fire to the property of origin. Two people were displaced although there were no injuries reported. The shed and vehicle are a total loss, with the mobile home also sustaining significant damage.

    Those affected are being taken care of by their local family and the American Red Cross. The fire is currently under investigation.
