3 hurt in Canonsburg shooting

For the third time in one week, police are dealing with a shooting on Canonsburg streets.

But the latest one was captured on video.

The sounds of several gunshots startled neighbors on Blaine Avenue.

“I heard a couple pops around 11:30, 12 o’clock. Didn’t think much of it,” said neighbor Lee Bell.

Police say this shooting happened just before midnight on the 4th of July.

Just a few days before and a few blocks away, shots were fired.

Police are looking into a possible connection.

“I’m new to the neighborhood. Everything has been fine until now. I mean, I heard about these shootings a couple streets over and this kind of doesn’t make me want to live here no more,” said neighbor Lee Bell.

In the Blaine Avenue shooting, three people were injured and rushed to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A neighbor who remained anonymous just moved to the area.

“Besides all of that. The neighborhood, it’s livable. It’s comfortable. People are friendly and they’re comfortable… it’s just those crazy people that’s doing the stupidity that makes it kind of worrying,” said the neighbor.

According to detectives, Monday and Tuesday, someone was shooting a gun apparently at random between Franklin and Highland avenues.

Police posted on Facebook, saying they’re devoting all their resources to the investigation. That includes going over surveillance video, which captured a vehicle firing shots down Blaine Avenue.

They hope the evidence helps them catch those responsible.

Police are asking anyone with any information about any of the shootings to call them.
