    Victim of 'suspicious death' identified as 61-year-old Canton man

    A Canton man found deceased Saturday has been identified at 61-year-old Christopher Leyden, according to Fulton County Coroner Austin Rhodes and Canton Police Chief Mike Eveland.

    Canton police and first responders received a call Saturday for a reported medical emergency in an apartment in the 100 block of First Street. Leyden was found deceased at the scene at about 12:30 p.m.

    The Fulton County Coroner’s Office conducted an autopsy Tuesday. The cause of death remains under investigation pending further studies.

    The Canton Police Department, the Fulton County Coroner’s Office, Illinois State Police and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the incident as a suspicious death.
