ISP Improves Crash Investigation & Safety Techniques
To help with traffic crash investigations, as well as identify best practices to keep officers safe, the Illinois State Police (ISP) participated in the Illinois Association of Technical Accident Investigators crash testing event on June 26-28, 2024. The event took place at the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. ISP officers from the Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, Crime Scene Services, Division of Patrol, and representatives from the ISP Forensic Laboratory joined law enforcement officers and crash scene investigators from other agencies for the three-day event. Attendees witnessed live crash testing and participated in forensic mapping and digital evidence recovery.

Notice to Village of Morton Natural Gas Customers
The Village of Morton has contracted a third party to install new radio transmitters on the gas meters of all Morton Natural Gas customers. The installers will have badges identifying them as contracted Village personnel, and their trucks will be marked with the Morton Public Works logo. They will not need access to the interior of your home, and customers will not experience any interruptions in natural gas service. What new Illinois laws mean for Oak Park
Illinois’ new laws went into effect July 1, including a minimum wage increase and a gas tax increase. In Chicago and in Cook County, which encompasses Oak Park, minimum wage workers will now make a base pay of $16.20 per hour. Before, the minimum wage was $15.80 per hour.
