EAST PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — A man has been arrested for theft in connection with a rash of vandalism to mailboxes in East Peoria last week. The Village of Morton has contracted a third party to install new radio transmitters on the gas meters of all Morton Natural Gas customers. The installers will have badges identifying them as contracted Village personnel, and their trucks will be marked with the Morton Public Works logo. They will not need access to the interior of your home, and customers will not experience any interruptions in natural gas service.
