PEORIA, Ill. – The Peoria County Coroner says an autopsy on a Peoria County Jail inmate, found dead early Tuesday morning, was inconclusive. In a statement Wednesday morning, Coroner Jamie Harwood says there were no lethal injuries found on the exam of 31-year-old Wayne Hatton, despite the report of an altercation in downtown Peoria Monday night.

QCA martial artist in the fight of his life against cancer
A Quad-City martial artist is taking on the fight of his life: cancer. John Morrow, owner of Morrow’s Academy of Martial Arts in Moline, has had a long career of. fighting and giving. Morrow was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer, but it hasn’t stopped the 72-year-old from doing what he loves, instructing martial arts and fundraising for charity. John Wirth talked about the Street Cruisers Car Club he started and the Francis Park Fourth of July car, truck, and motorcycle show that he helped bring back after over a decade-long hiatus. The car, truck, and motorcycle show is from 9 AM to 3 PM at Francis Park. Registration for the car show is from 9 AM to 11 AM, and voting takes place from 11 AM to noon. ISP Improves Crash Investigation & Safety Techniques
To help with traffic crash investigations, as well as identify best practices to keep officers safe, the Illinois State Police (ISP) participated in the Illinois Association of Technical Accident Investigators crash testing event on June 26-28, 2024. The event took place at the Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL. ISP officers from the Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit, Crime Scene Services, Division of Patrol, and representatives from the ISP Forensic Laboratory joined law enforcement officers and crash scene investigators from other agencies for the three-day event. Attendees witnessed live crash testing and participated in forensic mapping and digital evidence recovery.
