McPHERSON, Kan. — The ReUse It Center was able to donate $4,500 for the month of July! A huge thank you to all volunteers and customers who make this possible!. The Omega Project is a multi-faceted, faith-based recovery program that emphasizes heart level changes in men and women. We offer lifestyle change to those whose probable future would have been jail or homelessness. We provide a place to live, teaching and training in lifestyle transformation, work opportunities, and contact with those who have overcome the addictive lifestyle.

Newton to reduce mill rate in 2025 budget
NEWTON, Kan. — At Tuesday night’s meeting, the Newton City Commission approved a not-to-exceed budget for publication that includes a 1-mill reduction in the tax rate. Newton’s assessed valuation rose by 12.7% for next year, a large increase after many years of relatively stagnant growth. With the mill levy reduction, the City will take in revenue equivalent to an 11% increase in valuation.
New name, same goal: Hope Wichita hosts annual back-to-school event
Hope Wichita, formerly known as Convoy of Hope, is hosting its annual back-to-school event on Saturday.
