Guacamole And Salsa Are The Latest To Be Recalled Due To Listeria
Guacamole and salsa are two food items to be on the lookout for. There's been a slow but sure listeria outbreak that's affected everything from vegetables to deli lunch meat. Per the Food and Drug Administration's official website, Supreme Service Solutions LLC (Kroger) issued a voluntary recall. This includes pre-cut vegetable products and dips sold at Kroger grocery stores. As of now, the recall only affects the following states: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio. (But of course, be on the lookout for further developments regarding your state.)

Pro-Parson PAC seeks to boost Missouri governor’s favored candidates in GOP primaries

Missouri man is free from prison after a judge overturned his 1991 conviction, despite AG's efforts
ST. LOUIS (AP) — A Missouri man was freed from prison Tuesday after his murder conviction was overturned after 34 years behind bars, despite the state attorney general’s efforts to keep him there. “I never gave up because my family never gave up,” Christopher Dunn said from the steps of the downtown St. Louis courthouse. “It’s easy to give up in prison when you lose hope. But when the system throws you away, you have to ask yourself if you wanted to just settle for it or fight for it.” Dunn, 52, reunited with his wife, Kira Dunn, as he was officially released from the St. Louis city jail Tuesday night. As his release drew imminent, he was driven by van from the state prison in Licking, Missouri, to St. Louis, about 140 miles (225 kilometers) away. A St. Louis circuit judge overturned Dunn’s murder conviction on July 22 and ordered his immediate release. But Dunn remained imprisoned amid a chaotic process that began when Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey appealed to try and keep Dunn locked up.
Tracking a mild night, dangerous heat returning tomorrow
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy to mostly clear overnight with lows in the upper 70s. TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and hot with highs in the upper 90s. Heat index values rise to 105-110. EXTENDED: A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was just issued until 10:00 for much of eastern Mid-Missouri including Columbia and Jefferson City. So far, storms have largely stayed tame, but I am tracking another cluster that has developed just south and east of Des Moines. If that tracks farther east, most of the severe threat will be near St. Louis and east, but if it dives more southerly, we could see the threat for strong winds and hail in our area in the next few hours. Tomorrow looks dry for much of the day with highs reaching the upper 90s and a heat index between 105-110. Tomorrow night, another round of showers and storms will be possible, favoring our eastern counties yet again. As rain exits Thursday, we could rebound back into the mid-90s with a heat index up to 105. We'll feel the effects of the cold front passing to our south by Friday, but not much of a cool down is expected. Slightly lower dew points will yield a heat index around 95 for Friday and Saturday. The weekend is looking hot, sunny, and dry with highs in the low 90s. The hot streak continues into next week with the heat index creeping up by mid-week.
