Stark County football fans can rest assured that there shouldn't be too much rain on their parade next week.

Festivities leading up to the Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Week begin in earnest this weekend in Canton with the Balloon Classic presented by Aultman scheduled to start Friday, and the National Weather Service is predicting a warm, dry start to the action.

Rick Garuckas, a meteorologist with the weather agency in Cleveland, said there is little possibility for rain this weekend.

"The best chance of any showers should stay south of the Canton area," he said. "Starting Friday [and] Saturday, it looks like temperatures are going to be in the low 80s with low humidity."

As we move into Enshrinement Week, he said, there might be some rain, but it shouldn't be a major concern.

"It would be scattered showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening that would most likely be brief," he said. "As of right now, it's not looking like anything widespread."

Garuckas said temperatures will likely warm up for Enshrinement Week, reaching the mid 80s or even the 90s.

"Next week looks like it's going to be warmer and more humid compared to what we've seen in recent days heading into Hall of Fame weekend, but nothing extreme or out of the ordinary for the end of July and beginning of August," he said.
