CANTON – A ramp leading to the Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement and other Hall of Fame activities will be closed for four hours Saturday.

The Ohio Department of Transportation plans to close the ramp from Interstate 77 south to Fulton Road NW (state Route 687) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The detour will be Interstate 77 south to 13th Street NW.

ODOT spokesperson Ray Marsch said the agency closes the ramp each year at the request of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Canton Police Department.

"It helps with traffic flow and with the thousands of vehicles coming in for the event," he said.

The ramp's closure will affect those heading south to the enshrinement, which begins at noon at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium at 1835 Harrison Ave. NW.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame also will host its Rock the Turf event from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the field turf next to the museum. The free event will feature concessions, a beer garden and music by local DJ Billy Manos from 10 a.m. to noon and from 3 to 5 p.m.
