6 hurt in 3-vehicle crash in Canton

CANTON, Ohio (WJW) — The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a three-vehicle crash that sent six people to the hospital Saturday.

It happened just after 11 a.m. on U.S. Route 62 in Canton.

Witnesses said a GMC van crashed into the back of a Volkswagen SUV, forcing it into the rear of a Honda minivan.

Six people inside the Volksawagen had minor injuries. None of the three drivers were hurt.

The driver of the GMC, Acosta Banegaj Yared Eliab, 22, of Canton, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance.

The crash remains under investigation.
