EL PASO, Texas ( KTSM ) — A 39-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly stealing a pickup truck, crashing it into several properties, and attempting to break into a home early Friday morning, June 28, in Canutillo, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says just after 5 a.m. that Friday, Gabriel Sandoval, 39, stole a pickup truck from a residence located on the 600 block of Brothers. Sandoval then drove the truck and allegedly crashed it into six properties near the area causing damage.

The Sheriff’s Office says Sandoval then crashed into a canal area at the intersection of Gillet and Canutillo-La Union and fled the scene on foot.

Sandoval then attempted to break into a house on the 100 block of Kelly Way where he was arrested, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office says they received multiple calls on the incidents and were able to take Sandoval into custody.

Sandoval was also wanted on several outstanding warrants with no bond. He was charged with three counts of duty on striking in the state of Texas, theft of vehicle criminal mischief, and criminal trespass (habitation). He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
