A new buffalo will be unveiled on Saturday between the Tooele Marketplace and Asylum 49 at 140 East 200 South in Tooele City. This buffalo isn’t part of Tooele City’s official buffalo herd. Unable to get a buffalo through Tooele City, Kimm Anderson, owner of Tooele Marketplace and Asylum 49, bought his own buffalo.
St. George area grocery stores may be sold as part of Kroger-Albertsons merger
ST. GEORGE — Two grocery stores in the St. George area are set to be sold by Kroger Foods should that company’s bid to merge with Albertsons go through. As part of a pending $25 million merger plan announced in October 2022, the two companies released a list of stores to be offloaded earlier this week. In all, 579 grocery stores, six distribution centers and one processing plant spread across 18 states and the District of Columbia are to be sold.

CEDAR CITY — An 18-year-old man is facing multiple charges following a shooting incident that left another man dead in Kanarraville on Wednesday evening. Kyle Black Jessop was booked into Iron County Jail at 4:10 a.m. on Thursday, where he is being held on suspicion of two counts of possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, a third-degree felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, a third-degree felony, and two misdemeanor counts related to drug, paraphernalia and alcohol possession.
