Demolition of Cascade Middle School now underway
EUGENE, Ore. – Out with the old, in with the new, as they say. The second-oldest building in Eugene’s Bethel School District is being reduced to dust. Demolition work is currently underway on Cascade Middle School, which was built in 1955, and a new school has been built to replace it. The new school, which was built right next door to the 69-year-old building, will be ready for students to move into it when they return in the fall, according to school district officials.
Exploring Portland middle housing at the NW Natural Street of Dreams
Today, many Oregonians face high housing costs because the supply of diverse housing is so low. For a variety of reasons, the construction of more traditional housing types like single-family homes and apartment complexes has remained the primary form for any new housing built in the last several decades. However, given the growing housing crisis, Oregon became the first state in the nation to re-legalize another form of housing, often called “Missing Middle Housing.”

Oregon has all the tools to win the National Championship, and the script might’ve been leaked on Tuesday, which shows that they are winning it all.

Dan Lanning Has West Coasters Shook!
Dan Lanning, you absolute king. You must have noticed that Oregon is absolutely dominating on the recruiting trail right now. It is disgusting. Sad to see for the other West coast schools if we are being honest. But as an Oregon fan it is delicious. Lanning has never been a...
Jetty Etty: Homeless told ‘just go to the tracks, and we’ll find you housing’
Jetty Etty says a Community Court program connects unhoused neighbors with housing services. "But the truth is, there isn't housing available. So they get added to a waitlist for housing. And then a lot of organizations here, ones that are, like, paid by the city, are telling them, 'Just go to the tracks and we'll find you housing.' "
16-Year-Old Track Sensation Quincy Wilson Named to USA’s Olympic 4x400m Relay Pool for Paris
EUGENE, Ore. — Quincy Wilson’s driver’s test will probably have to wait. He may be a little too busy this summer to prepare for it. 5-star TE Linkon Cure announces college commitment
One of the top available players in the 2025 recruiting class announced his college commitment on Monday afternoon, and it unfortunately didn’t land in the hands of the Oregon Ducks this time. 5-star tight end Linkon Cure announced that he would be committing to the Kansas State Wildcats, staying in his home state instead of joining the Ducks, Texas A&M Aggies, or Kansas Jayhawks. Cure is rated as the No. 2 tight end in the 2025 class, and the No. 26 overall player. He took an official visit to Eugene last month and left with some recruiting analysts thinking that the Ducks had a really good chance to land him. A few days ago, the Ducks landed a commitment from 4-star TE Da’Saahn Brame, the No. 5 TE in the 2025 class. Once this happened, it appeared less likely that Cure would be committing to Oregon. One fact shows how much Oregon has surpassed USC in football recruiting
The USC Trojans are getting smoked by the Oregon Ducks in college football recruiting. It’s hard to avoid that reality, as unpleasant as it is. Oregon’s collection of four- and five-star football recruits dwarfs what USC has been able to do. Washington and UCLA also have reason to be concerned, alongside USC, about the extent to which Dan Lanning is stacking recruits and building future rosters in Eugene. It’s true that if Oregon doesn’t make a big splash in one of the next two seasons, we could see some recruits sour on the Ducks, but right now, this is a destination program with a robust NIL setup and attractive, modern facilities. Oregon and Ohio State are the two teams favored to meet in the Big Ten Championship Game later this season. Oregon is widely viewed as a top-five-caliber team with a great shot at making the College Football Playoff semifinals, not merely the playoff itself. USC might not make the playoff in 2024, but the Trojans must at least take big forward steps so that the “reputation gap” between the two programs decreases this year.
