    H.S. ROUNDUP: Hunter Parent records 1,000th career assist for Barnstable boys volleyball

    The Barnstable boys volleyball team defeated O'Bryant 3-1 (25-17, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23) on Monday for their sixth straight win, but the win streak wasn't the highlight of the night. Hunter Parent (five kills, four digs) finished with 28 assists, and recorded his 1,000th career assist in the win.

    Nik Brancaccio (13 kills, one assist, three digs), Matheus Alvarenga (12 kills), João Pedro Andrade (five kills), and Rafael Ferias (two kills) also contributed on offense for Barnstable.

    In other high school action:

    Girls Lacrosse

    Barnstable 12, Martha’s Vineyard 11 : The Red Hawks (8-6) have won three of their last four games with the win over the Vineyarders (5-7). Shelby Locascio (four goals, one assist), Claire Kayajan (three goals), Alyssa McEneaney (two goals, five assists), Chloe Egan (two goals, one assist), Giovanna Detoledo (one goal), and Annie Richardson (one assist) all contributed on offense, while Morgan Mueller had nine saves in goal.

    Middleborough 17, Mashpee 14 : Ciara Hendricks led the Falcons (5-11) with eight goals and one assist in the loss. Sophia Morin (five goals), Claire Howard (one goal), Kai Christo (two assists) all contributed on offense for Mashpee.

    Sandwich 16, Abington 3 : Quinn Anderson (100th career goal) and Avery Cobban each finished with three goals, while Kyla Darmon (two goals and three assists) scored her 100th career point for the Lady Knights (16-1). Aubrie Schwager (two goals, one assist), Maggie Konary (two goals), Abi Reisig (two goals), Rae Senno (one goal, one assist), and Ella Murphy (one goal) all contributed for Sandwich.

    Old Colony 7, Bourne 5: Bree Lunedei scored twice, while Janice Bouchard, Hannah Petrillo and Sienna Silva (one assist) each added one goal for the Lady Canalmen (4-13). AJ Fernandez had 17 saves in goal for Bourne.

    Upper Cape 10, GNBVT 4 : The Rams (13-4) have won four of their last five games, and have scored double digits in each win.

    Cape Cod Academy 14, Falmouth 2 : The Seahawks (10-4) have won four of their last five games as they defeated the Clippers (8-9), and have scored at least 14 goals in each victory. Ella Bartolomei (four goals, one assist), Olivia Powers (three goals), Quinn Powers (two goals), Tricia Carr (two goals), Reese Moreshead (one goal) and Willow Ruel (one goal) led the offense, while Flynn Kayajan had 12 saves in goal for Cape Cod Academy.

    Boys Lacrosse

    Sandwich 12, Abington 5 : The Blue Knights (13-3) are the new South Shore League champions. Reece MacKinnon (eight face-off wins), Cole Rodgers (six goals, two assists), Avery Richardson (two goals, two assists), Harry Delman (two goals, one assist), Jack Connolly (one goal, two assists), Sullivan Gaffney (one goal) led the offense, while Shane Corcoran (13 saves) and Jack O’Brien led the defense for Sandwich.

    Bourne 11, Dighton-Rehoboth 10 (OT) : Brett Lucier had three goals and three assists, including the overtime winner, for the Canalmen (11-6). Ryan Haden (four goals, one assist), Charlie Seitz (two goals, two assists), Sean Kelley (one goal, four assists, 90% on face-offs), Brady Banks (one goal), Max Ridl (one assist), and Drew Kelley (one assist) also chipped in on offense for Bourne. Max Beals played well in net with 15 saves, while Frank Gruel, Ethan Fox and Brian Murphy held off aggressive offense.

    Marshfield 15, Nauset 3 : Joey Berardi scored twice, while Sawyer McCutchen added a goal for the Warriors (8-9).

    Middleborough 13, Mashpee 8 : Jack Balfour (four goals), Maxx Smith (two goals), Michael Valois (one goal), and Dominic Matteodo (three assists) led the offense for the Falcons (5-12).

    Old Colony 8, Upper Cape 3: The Rams (8-10) are on a three game slide. Ryan Hanson, Mik Kalkanis, and Jacoby Staruski each scored a goal, while goalie Dylan Scott finished with 21 saves in goal for Upper Cape.

    Martha’s Vineyard 15, Cardinal Spellman 7 : The Vineyarders (4-10) snapped a three game losing streak. Aiden Conley (four goals), Fin Callen (three goals, two assists), John Hoff (three goals, one assist), Wyatt Nicholson (three goals, one assist), Bryce Cioffi two goals, one assist), Liam Conley (one assist and 91% on face-off, and Ben Kokoszka (one assist) all contributed on offense for Martha's Vineyard,

    GNBVT 14, Sturgis 2 : Sturgis falls to 1-0 on the season.

    Scituate 18, Barnstable 4 : The Red Hawks drop to 4-13 on the season.

    Falmouth 18, Silver Lake 6: The Clippers (15-3) have won six in a row.

    Nantucket 15, Shrewsbury 4 : The Whalers (14-1) remain hot with their 12th straight victory on Saturday.

    Softball

    Monomoy 12, Wareham 3 : The Sharks (15-1) continue to roll with their 12th straight win. Kate Huse (one run, one RBI), Bella Bellefeuille (two runs), Kinsey Lister (three RBIs, one run) each had three hits, while Kiley Mawn (two hits, two runs), Willa Leighton (two runs, one hit), Alana Lojko (one hit, two RBIs), and Hailey Lanciani (one hit, three RBIs, two runs, two walks) also contributed for Monomoy.

    Holbrook 25, Mashpee 1 : Michelle Gonsalves (one run) and Addison Losh had the only hits, while Kiri Sawyer added one RBI for the Falcons (0-13).

    New Bedford 8, Falmouth 4 : Rylin Briggs pitched a complete game and struck out 13 for the Clippers (11-6) in the loss. Rylin Briggs went 3-for-4, (double, one run), Molly Belfiore finished 2-for-4, and Katie Medeiros had a two-RBI single for Falmouth.

    Dennis-Yarmouth 11, Sturgis 2 : Brooke Chicoine drove in five runs for the Dolphins (7-11) win over Sturgis (6-9). Savannah Azoff started and allowed six hits, two runs, struck out six and walked two for D-Y. Alexa Barboza went 3-for-4, while Alexa Buron was 2-for-4

    Nantucket 20, Atlantis Charter 17 : The Whalers (8-5) have won six in a row after a 2-5 start to the season. Aidan Choukri pitched four innings, struck out seven, scattered two hits and gave up one earned run, while Brayden Wright came in for relief and struck out two, walked one and allowed one run and for Cape Tech.

    Apponequet 4, Bourne 3: The Lady Canalmen (7-11) came up just short at home. Haylee McDonald had three hits with a double, RBI and run scored, while Michaela Muldoon and Jadyn Morrell singled and scored a run for Bourne.

    Upper Cape 12, Barnstable 0: The Rams (8-8) have won three of their last four games as they beat the Red Hawks (3-13) in five innings on Senior Night. Taysia Lopes had six strikeouts and threw her first shutout of the season, and had a two-run triple in the first inning, while Amya Irving and Allie Walsh each chipped in with singles.

    Defensively, Emma King anchored the defense with three put outs and Taylor Landers had a nice catch in right field that ended a scoring threat by Barnstable. Taysia Lopes had six strikeouts and threw her first shutout of the season.

    Nauset 27, Nantucket 17, Nauset 25, Nantucket 16: The Warriors (7-12) picked up two wins over the Whalers (8-7) in a doubleheader. In the second game, Ellie Comier (four RBIs, one triple, five runs, three hits), Molly Farrell (four runs, two hits, two RBIs, three walks), Cammie Rose (four runs, two hits, one RBIs, two walks), Lila Alger (two runs, one hit, three RBIs), Aubrey Scoullar (two runs, four hits, three RBIs), and Amelia Francis (three runs, one double, one hit, four RBIs, three walks) led the offense for Nauset.

    Rising Tide 20, Cape Tech 2: The Crusaders (3-13) split the season series with Rising Tide after they defeated them 13-0 in the season opener.

    Martha’s Vineyard 19, Brockton 19 : The Vineyarders (6-8-1) ended in their first tie of the season.

    Rockland 15, Sandwich 0 : The Lady Knights (2-13) were shutout on the road.

    Baseball

    St. John Paul II 4, Martha’s Vineyard 3: The Lions (14-5) walked off the Vineyarders (4-12) on Senior Night. Seniors Jesse Affonso (one hit, one run), Hunter Alten (5 IP, three runs, four hits, three walks, 3 Ks) and Brady Meyer (two hits, one run, two walks) all played key roles in the win for JPII. Henry Roy went 3-for-4 with an RBI, while Colin Buckley threw two perfect innings with two strikeouts.

    Cape Tech 17, Rising Tide 1 : The Crusaders (11-7) have won four straight games. Aidan Choukri pitched four innings, struck out seven, scattered two hits, gave up one earned run, while Brayden Wright came in for relief for one inning, struck out two, walked one, and allowed no runs for Cape Tech.

    Jake Ambrosini (three walks, two runs scored), Choukri (one hit, two runs, one RBI), Mason Tomlinson (three hits, four RBIs, three runs, five stolen bases), Will Mullen (three walks, on base twice), Trevor Ryone (one hit), Nolan Baker (one hit, three RBI triple), Tyler Ellis (on base three times, one walk, one hit, two RBIs, three runs), and Eric Emond (two hits, one walk, three RBIs) led the offense for Cape Tech.

    Upper Cape 5, Southeastern 0 : The Rams (17-2) have won seven straight games. Tyler Kutil pitched a complete game as he struck out five, scattered five hits, and allowed no walks for Upper Cape. Nolan Roche, Logan Ewell, Mitchell Kirkland each had RBI hits that paced the Rams offense.

    Durfee 6, Barnstable 3 : The Red Hawks (14-4) fell to Durfee for the second time this season.

    Nantucket 17, Atlantis Charter 2; Nantucket 13, Atlantis Charter 2 : The Whalers (5-12) won both games in doubleheader on Saturday. In the first game, Shea Dwyer pitched four innings, scattered four hits, allowed two runs (one earned), walked three and struck out seven for Nantucket. Alex Horton (three runs, two RBIs, two doubles), Evan Cranston (two runs, one double), Keegan Bedell (one RBI, one run), and Dwyer (one double, two RBIs) each had two hits. Eli MacIver scored four times, Henry Tejada added three RBIs, and Colby Lucas chipped in two RBIs.

    In the second game, Dalton pitched five innings, scattered two hits, gave up two runs (one earned), walked four, and struck out seven for Nantucket. Felix Abreu (four RBIs, one double, two runs) and Dwyer (two runs, one RBI) each had three hits, while Tejada contributed with two RBIs, two walks, and one run scored.

    Sandwich 8, Rockland 1: The Blue Knights (11-6) picked up a home win on Senior Night. Brayden Ramsey went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and one RBI, Jack Mulcahy had two hits, Matt Sullivan chipped in one hit and three RBIs for Sandwich. Connor Finn picked up the win on the mound.

    Dennis-Yarmouth 10, Nantucket 0: The Dolphins (9-11) have won three of their last four games as they beat the Whalers (5-13). John Richard pitched five innings, allowed no hits, walked three and struck out nine, while Connor McGoldrick pitched one inning, allowed no hits and struck out one batter for the combined shutout for D-Y. Alex Finn went 2-for-2 and drove in four runs.

    Apponequet 5, Bourne 1: Bryce Young pitched four innings and struck out seven, while Luca Finton had two hits for the Canalmen (3-14).

    Falmouth 6, New Bedford 5: The Clippers (8-10) have won three of their last four games. Jack Frostholm (one double) had four hits, Eathen Vecchione (one double, two RBIs, one run) added three hits, and Josh Matta (one RBI) chipped in two hits for Falmouth.

    Carver 6, Mashpee 2: The Falcons (6-10) have dropped their last two games, and will have their first season with a record below .500 for the first time since 2011. Michael McGrail led the way with two hits for Mashpee.

    Boys Tennis

    Dennis-Yarmouth 3, Rising Tide 2 : The Dolphins (4-13) snapped a five match slide with their second road win of the season. Collin Caron won second singles (6-2, 6-1) over Connor O’Neil, Landon Richter beat Alex Garron in third singles (6-1, 6-2), and Michael O’Reilly and Oscar Turek defeated Robert Downey and Cam Sadler in first doubles (6-2, 6-2) for D-Y.

    Rockland 3, Sandwich 2 : Andrew Emmel beat Kayden Gastel in first singles (6-0, 6-1), while Kallen Kestenbaum and Joey LaScola defeated Mo Asad and Lula Cavicchi in first doubles (6-1, 1-6, (10-6) for the Blue Knights (5-7).

    Monomoy 3, Nantucket 2 : The Sharks (10-6) have won five of their last six matches as they beat the Whalers (6-9). Ryan Casey beat Boyon Kalpazanov in first singles (6-3, 6-3), Roman Pavluchenko defeated Henry Kalawatha in third singles (6-1, 6-0), and Connor Francis and Paul Carlson won first doubles (6-1, 6-4) over Hawkin Edwardes and Soren Edwardes for Monomoy.

    Nik Krastev beat Gavin McDonnell in second singles (6-3, 6-1), while Fuller Holland and Sam Iller defeated Blake Noonan and Ethan Seufert in second doubles (3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6) for Nantucket.

    Mashpee 5, Carver 0 ; Mashpee 4, Carver 1 : The Falcons (10-5) won both matches of a eight game pro set doubleheader with Carver. Colin Burdge (first singles), James Benners (second singles), Jesse Dean (third singles, first doubles), Andrew Kelley (first doubles), and Jack Foley (second doubles) each picked up wins in both matches for Mashpee.

    Barnstable 4, Falmouth 1: The Red Hawks (12-3) have won four straight matches as they beat the Clippers (6-10). Brennan Riley beat Thomas Ghossein in first singles (6-3, 6-4), while Eric Arabadzhiev defeated Jack Beardsley in third singles (6-3, 6-0) for Barnstable. Mike Higginbotham and Connor O'Reilly beat Sam Collins and Jacob Faidell in first doubles (7-5, 6-3), while Andy Coombs and Thomas Berger defeated Sebastian Verslyke and Henry Stoermer in second doubles (6-3, 6-3). Quintin Heffernan defeated Harry Baroni in second singles 7-5, 6-7 (10-6)) for Falmouth.

    Apponequet 5, Bourne 0 : The Canalmen (4-12) were swept on the road.

    Girls Tennis

    Apponequet 5, Bourne 0 : The Lady Canalmen (8-8) fell short at home as they were swept for just the second time this season.

    Rising Tide 4, Dennis-Yarmouth 1 : Tristin Bradford beat Sylvie Osmanski in third singles (6-1, 6-4) for the Dolphins (0-14).

    St. John Paul II 19, Martha’s Vineyard 0 : The Lions (19-0) remain unbeaten with their 19th straight win as they beat the Vineyarders (7-9). Lilly Walker defeated Laina Dubin in first singles (6-4, 6-0), Bella Scioletti beat Leah Thomson in second singles (6-1, 6-1), Rosanna Sullivan won third singles (6-1, 6-2) over Zoe Treitman for JPII.

    Ava P. and Grace Walker defeated Sophia Balsas and Ella Moran in first doubles (6-1, 6-3), while Kayla Katziff and Bridget Moran beat Ellie Pennington and Tessa Schulz in second doubles (6-1, 6-4).

    Cape Cod Academy 3, Nauset 2 : The Seahawks (12-4) ended their regular season with nine wins over their last 10 matches as they beat the Warriors (7-8). Lili Shanahan defeated Nicole Boyce in first singles (6-1, 6-0), Yoana Dokleva and Molly Lowery beat Faye Adams and Chloe Hand in first doubles (6-3, 6-4), and Kaleigh Howe and Megan Morey won second doubles (6-3, 7-5) over Haley Jackson and Callie Murphy for Cape Cod Academy.

    Anjali O'Brien defeated Julia McCaffery in second singles (6-2, 6-3), while Sophia Votteler beat Jemma Meadows in third singles (2-6, 7-5, (10-3)) for Nauset.

    Bourne 4, West Bridgewater 1 : The Lady Canalmen (8-7) have won two of their last three matches with the win on Sunday. Zoe Ridl beat Riley Bain in first singles (6-1, 6-1), while McKinley Wenzel defeated Reese Bunker in second singles (6-2, 6-1) for Bourne. Lily Russell and Sofia Halunen defeated Adaiyn Jenkinson and Giayna Jenkinson in first doubles (6-3, 6-1), while Ainsley Hopwood and Zoe Noonan beat Emma Dowday and Amelia Chew in second doubles (6-1, 6-0).

    Monomoy 3, Nauset 2 : The Sharks (12-4) have won eight in a row as they beat the Warriors (7-7). Lilly Gould defeated Anjoli O'Brien in second singles (10-8), Hanadi Rezk beat Sophia Votteler in third singles (10-2), and Cecilia Hand and Madison Mahfouz won first doubles (10-5) over Calley Murphy and Haley Jackson for Monomoy.

    Nicole Boyce defeated Tatiana Malone (10-6), while Faye Adams and Chloe Hand beat Sophia Sarabia and Darcy Addison (10-7) for Nauset.

    Falmouth 4, Barnstable 1 : The Clippers (6-9) have won back-to-back matches as they beat the Red Hawks on the road. Geneveive Maranchie beat Sophie Davis in first singles (6-1, 6-4), while Maia Ledwell defeated Isadora Brandao in second singles (6-0, 6-0) for Falmouth. Alexis Christian and Marcella DePaula beat Kate Condinho and Maddie Devoe in first doubles (1-6, 6-3, 6-1), while Sadie Inman and Phoebe Hodgson defeated Sophia Tymchysyn and Ayla Camelo in second doubles (3-6, 6-3, 6-3). Teagan Geraghty beat Kirkland O'Leary in third singles (6-2, 6-1) for Barnstable.

    Sandwich 3, Rockland 2 : The Lady Knights (4-12) have won two of their last three matches. Kaity Landry beat Hope Sylvester in first singles (6-2, 6-2), Arianna Tedeschi won second singles (6-2, 6-1) over Vivian Nguyen, and Senja Kravitz and Abby Binienda defeated Kyara Williams and Mae Richardson in second doubles (6-0, 6-1) for Sandwich.

    Mashpee 5, Carver 0: The Falcons (9-8) have won four of their last five matches.

    Sailing

    Nauset 3, Old Rochester 0: The Warriors sailed to victory.
