    H.S. ROUNDUP: Mashpee hands Randolph its first loss with game-winning touchdown pass

    A short-handed Mashpee football team (3-1) outlasted Randolph (3-1) 26-21 on Friday in a South Shore League Tobin Division matchup.

    DeAnjelo DeSena, Logan Wills and Ben Squarcia each scored a rushing touchdown for the Falcons. Squarcia threw the game winning touchdown on a halfback pass with 1:22 left to give the Falcons a 26-21 lead.

    Football

    Barnstable 14, Dennis-Yarmouth 12: The Red Hawks (5-0) held off the Dolphins (3-2) behind a Dylan Hamilton touchdown pass and a Jayson Dyer rushing touchdown.

    Dylan Hamilton finished with 158 passing yards and a touchdown. Jayson Dyer added 41 yards on the ground with a rushing touchdown and Kayden Fortes caught two passes for 93 yards, which included an 81-yard touchdown. Hagen Dias converted two point after attempts.

    Jayden Barber completed 16-of-32 passes for 219 yards and touchdown. He also rushed for another in the loss. Grayden Campbell had five receptions for 63 yards and caught a touchdown, while Bryson Garcia caught two passes for 72 yards.

    Nauset 28, Nantucket 14: The Warriors (3-2) beat the Whalers (1-4) to snap a two-game losing streak. The Whalers led 7-6 after the opening quarter before the Warriors edged ahead with a touchdown and a two-point conversion. The Warriors, who led 14-7 at halftime, then scored twice to pull away and hand the Whalers their fourth straight loss.

    Sandwich 14, Middleborough 13: The Blue Knights (4-0) came from behind to beat Middleborough and remain undefeated.

    Upper Cape 36, Holbrook 0: The Rams (2-2) blanked Holbrook on the road. The Rams showcased a powerful offense, with their quarterback connecting for multiple touchdowns and a strong running game keeping the Holbrook defense on edge. Defensively, the Rams were relentless, stifling Holbrook's offense and forcing turnovers.

    Carver 41, Martha's Vineyard 14: The Vineyarders (3-2) lost at home to Carver.

    Durfee 33, Falmouth 20: The Clippers (1-4) lost on the road at Durfee. Tre Days had three total touchdowns (two passing and one rushing). Nathan Bushy and Danny Hanlon each caught a touchdown.

    Wareham 18, Cape Tech 6: The Crusaders (1-4) fell to their third straight loss after they were beaten by Wareham.

    Girls Soccer

    Dennis-Yarmouth 1, Monomoy 0: Chaiyenne Simmonds scored the game's only goal and the Dolphins (1-8-1) picked up their first victory of the season after they held on to beat the Sharks (6-5-1). After losing to the Sharks 10-0 a few weeks ago, the Dolphins proved they have the ability to play against a great team. The Dolphins fought until the very last minute to pull out the victory.

    Dolphins coach Amanda Carey said, “It has been a difficult season for the Dolphins, but tonight's victory shows that when a team continues to put in the work, plays as one, and has a positive mindset, the score will reflect that.”

    Hull 3, Sandwich 0: The Blue Knights (5-5-1) were beaten by Hull for a second time this season.

    Boys Soccer

    Dennis-Yarmouth 4, Monomoy 2: Samuel Pereira scored twice to help the Dolphins (7-1-3) defeat the Sharks (6-5-1). Robbie McPhee, who scored from 30 yards out, and Tay-Shawn Hanniford both found the net for the Dolphins. Dolphins coach Matheus Moreira commended his team's collective effort. Mackari Powell was explosive on the side line, while Adam Davenport impressed at ends of the field. Brandon Hall and Perry Foster were both solid in the center back positions to limit the attack.

    Cape Tech 7, Cape Cod Academy 0: The Crusaders (8-2-0) shut out the Seahawks (0-6-0). Isaiah Stacey, Brady Livingston and Devaunte Lewis played well in the loss. Viktor Shkodrov had a hat trick for the Crusaders, while Gabriel Martins recorded a trio of assists. Lucas Santos, Jonah DeWitt, Aidan Smith and Sam Da Silva also played well for the Crusaders.

    Sandwich 0, Hull 0: The Blue Knights

    Field Hockey

    Dennis-Yarmouth 7, Barnstable 0: The Dolphins (7-2-2) blanked the Red Hawks (1-7-1). Brooke Chicoine scored a hat trick, while Charleigh Hicks had a trio of assists for the Dolphins. Leah Woodward tallied two goals and an assist, and Megan McDowell and Jenna Richard each found the back of the net. Aurora Quenneville recorded an assist.

    Monomoy 2, Cohasset 1: The Sharks (11-0-1) went on the road and beat Cohasset for their third straight win. Sophie Larivee and Sage Harrison each tallied a goal, while Mia Zimmerman and Sam Clarke both had assists. Maddy Swett secured the shutout in goal.

    Nauset 1, Nantucket 1: The Warriors (5-5-2) held the Whalers (7-2-2) to a tie.

    Volleyball

    Attleboro 3, Barnstable 2: The Red Hawks (10-3) were beaten in five sets (25-23, 26-28, 20-25, 25-19, 15-10) by undefeated Attleboro. Teagan Geraghty had 34 assists, while Molly Gleason and Dylan Andrews had 13 and 11 kills, respectively. Ayla Camelo had eight kills.

    Danvers 3, Dennis-Yarmouth 1: The Dolphins (8-5) lost at Danvers in four sets (25-15, 25-17, 14-25, 25-15). Mariah Eaton had 13 kills, Vivian Castano tallied 23 assists and Juliyana Hristova recorded four kills and two blocks in the loss.

    Cape Tech 3, Upper Cape 1: The Crusaders (10-1) defeated the Rams (1-7) in four sets.

    Sturgis East 3, Nauset 2: The Storm (3-9) defeated the Warriors (6-7) in five sets.

    Cross Country

    Boys Cross Country

    Sandwich 25, Mashpee 32: The Falcons lost their cross country meet at the Blue Knights on a highly technical 2.8-mile course.

    Grey Auger finished second with a time of 17:10, Jake Saunders placed third with a time of 17:29, Daniel O'Brien came sixth in 18:40, Jacoby Spinola crossed the line in eight in 20:59, and Ryan Araujo was 12th with a time of 23:32.

    Girls Cross Country

    Sandwich 21, Mashpee 40: The Falcons were defeated by the Blue Knights on the road. Anna Jensen finished second with a time of 21:38, Kira Duvall came in fifth with a time of 23:45, Cecilia McGee crossed the line in 11th in 26:16, and Greenley Davis was 12th with a time of 27:43.
