    HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Nauset boys golf stays perfect with win over St. John Paul II

    The Nauset golf team was challenged Thursday, but left the Willowbend Club with its perfect record intact.

    The Warriors earned a 258-281 win over a good St. John Paul II team.

    Nauset improves to 16-0 with the win, while the Lions fall to 16-4.

    Jack Martin led the Warriors, shooting a 38. He was followed by Oliver Smith with a 41, while Max St. Aubin and Zach Weiner each posted a 42.

    Drew Richards led the Lions with a 40.

    In other high school sports action:

    Boys Golf

    Bourne 236, West Bridgewater 249: The Canalmen improved to 7-8. Griffin Kelly and Luca Finton each shot 39. Ronan Kelly (39), Bryce Young (40), Jackson Fougere (41), and Charlie Seitz rounded out the scoring.

    Sandwich 137, Carver 124: Shooting well for Sandwich (16-4) were Blaise Chatigney (25), Luke Walsh (31), Kaden Schultz (32), Cole Rogers (32), Liam Craddock (32), Nathan DeBlank (35), Bradley Moesmen (35), and Luke Greeley (39).

    Martha's Vineyard 247, Sturgis West 269: The Vineyarders (5-9) picked up the win over the Navigators (5-9) at Bayberry Hills Links par 36. The medalist was Jacoby Light with a 38 for the Vineyarders.

    Football

    Bishop Hendricken 31, Barnstable 24: The Red Hawks (5-1) lost for the first time this season. Jayson Dyer rushed 19 times for 160 yards and a touchdown, while Dylan Hamilton threw a 15-yard score to Josh Ferguson. Hagen Dias did it all for special teams with a 82-yard return for a touchdown, three PATS, and a 28-yard field goals. Sophomore Anthony Parella led the defense with 16 tackles (three tackles for loss) and added one sack.

    Mashpee 48, Martha's Vineyard 21: The Falcons (4-1) topped the Vineyarders (3-3). Ben Squarcia scored three rushing touchdowns for the Falcons. Ryan Triveri returned a punt for a 57-yard touchdown, and caught a 25-yard score from D’Angelo Desana, who also added a rushing touchdown.

    Mashpee had interceptions from Daniel Alade and Maxx Smith, who also had seven tackles. Sacks came from Tiernan Moran and Holden Dickerson.

    Guillerme Oliveira scored two rushing touchdowns, while William Nicholson also contributed a rushing touchdown for Martha's Vineyard.

    Dennis-Yarmouth 21, Nantucket 7: The Dolphins (4-2) topped the Whalers (1-5). Jayden Barber went 22-for-30 for 228, and rushed nine times for 55 yards and a touchdown for D-Y. James Barnicle caught five passes for 70 yards, and had a 97-yard kick return touchdown. Aiden Gonsalves carried the ball 10 times for 48 yards, and had 17 yards receiving.

    Nauset 48, Falmouth 28: The Warriors (4-2) topped the Clippers (1-5).

    Abington 15, Sandwich 14: Sandwich (4-1) lost its first game of the season.

    Field Hockey

    Dennis-Yarmouth 1, Dartmouth 0: The Dolphins improved to 9-2-2 with the win. Megan McDowell scored a second quarter goal off an assist by Alaina Manuel.

    Monomoy 5, Nauset 1: The Sharks (13-0-1) topped the Warriors (5-7-2). Emery Cappallo (three goals), Sophie Larivee and Mia Zimmerman (one goal each) all scored for the Sharks. Sam Clarke (two assists) and Emily Layton (one assist) had assists.

    Sandwich 7, Middleboro 0: The Blue Knights improved to 13-0-0. Quinn Jordan (two goals, two assists), Megan Dwyer (two goals), Rachel Birch (one goal), Alivia Barnes (one goal), and Elisabeth Stutzman (one goal) scored for the Blue Knights.

    Nantucket 2, St. John Paul II 0: The Whalers (8-2-2) topped the Lions (8-6-0). Lili Crofford and Shea Ryan played well defensively for the Lions.

    Falmouth 2, Barnstable 1: The Clippers (5-7) picked up the win over the Red Hawks (1-9-1). Sophomore, and first year field hockey player, Cate Buckler had the lone goal assisted by senior captain Samantha Marczely for Barnstable. Senior Shelby Locascio also had a strong offensive game, while Krissy Taylor had eight saves in goal.

    Volleyball

    Sturgis West 3, Nauset 0: The Navigators (11-1) topped the Warriors (6-10). Brodie Gerlach was a force with 15 kills, five solo blocks, five digs and seven aces. Lily Miller added five aces and 19 assists to pace the offense. Gianna Barrows had nine aces and three digs.

    Norfolk Aggie 3, Upper Cape 1 : The Rams fall to 1-11 as Norfolk Aggie won 25-11, 25-17, 21-25, 25-21.Freshman Daishalys Nunes (five kills, three aces), freshman Sammy Savoie (three kills), junior Nadia Prunier (six assists), and senior Ella Kerrigan (16 digs) led the way for Upper Cape.

    Nantucket 3, Cape Cod Academy 1 : The Whalers (4-10) recorded a four-set win over the Seahawks.

    Sandwich 3, Wareham 2: The Lady Knights (8-6) have won five of their last six matches.

    Boys Soccer

    Cape Tech 10, Norfolk Aggie 1: The Crusaders improved to 10-2 with the win. Jonathan Da Silva (two goals), Ryan Delaney (two goals), and Daniel Colares (two goals) led the offense, Gabriel Martins, Rahvarion Smith, Jonah DeWitt and Alex Malone each scored on goal for Cape Tech. Smith (two assists), Colares, Daminic Clarke, Martins, Delaney, Kyle De Freitas, Lucas Santos, Aiden Schafer, and DeWitt all had assists.

    Upper Cape 1, Old Colony 0: Junior Manny DeOliveira, assisted by senior Gio Haga, scored the lone goal in the second half for the Rams' (8-2-1) win. Senior captain Liam Barton, Tyler Weston, sophomores Sean Stanton and Daniel Hingston led the defense, while sophomore keeper Sam Reynolds recorded the clean sheet. Senior captain Sean Murphy and sophomore Thomas Kirk played well in the midfield.

    Weymouth 3, Falmouth 0 : The Clippers (4-4-2) snapped a two-game win streak.

    Girls Soccer

    Norfolk Aggie 5, Cape Tech 1: The Crusaders (1-8-2) fell at home.
