EMS crews, SSCFD and Central Crossing Fire Protection responded emergency to the area as Marina staff and some customers were on the docks when the storm hit.

Part of the marina broke away from its mooring with individuals temporarily stranded on the dock. SSCFPD rescue boats shuttled these individuals back to land and safety.

Night drone images courtesy of ONeal show portions of the Marina wadded up like paper with shadows of boats partially underwater.

Trees and limbs came down quickly and campground areas report damage to RVs, campers, boats on trailers, boats tied at waterline, etc.

There were no reported injuries of civilians or rescue personnel, ” ONeal assured.

Authorities are asking the public to avoid the area . Stone County Sheriff’s Office report a large cell tower was damaged off of west Hwy 76 towards Barry County. There is limited cell service.

Cape Fair Marina update a statement regarding customers property. They have no electricity so they cannot take calls: “ A Dock received the most significant damage. The first half of the dock received minimal damage, but the second half received significant damage. J Dock also damaged.

As far as we can tell at this time, other docks/boats are okay. You can now get to the marina safely and view your boat/dock from the parking lot, but all walkways received damage and are unsafe to use.

We are working hard to have the gas dock available soon and access to all of the docks so you can check your boats.

We will continue to send updates. Thank you for your patience .” Click here for updates from Cape Fair Marina .
